The Blackthorn Stick was born in the late 1980s, when Patti Edgar and her mother, Catherine Foley Holotyak, took their first jewelry making course.They started hand fabricating their jewelry designs, which the family sold at regional Celtic festivals. When their mother retired at age 90, and passed at age 93, Patti and her sister, Celia

When their mother retired at age 90, and passed at age 93, Patti and her sister, Celia Fox decided to honor Catherine's legacy by reopening The Blackthorn Stick online.

The Blackthorn Stick is steeped in our Celtic ancestry and heritage. As we grieved our Mother's passing, we needed to continue her legacy. Patti has resumed jewelry making in her retirement from her nursing career. Many of Catherine's orignal pieces remain in our inventory. These are one of kind, signed by our artistic mother.
